Divergent Stars Theatre is a chapter of Central MN Theatre (CMNT) -- a local arts organization dedicated to providing performance and creative team leadership opportunities for artists in Central Minnesota. Their mission is to engage, collaborate, and display the value of working together to benefit the local arts community and residents of Central Minnesota.
CMNT currently has two branches/wings/chapters. Each chapter has a committee of volunteers who meet regularly to discuss which shows to produce and help recruit directors to execute these shows. Divergent Stars Theatre Company (DSTC) is their largest and most popular chapter with a focus on producing shows intended for mature audiences such as “Green Day's American Idiot!" which ran earlier this year. 
Better Times Theatre Company (BTTC) is another chapter of CMNT. They’ll be doing “Little Shop of Horrors” later this fall at the Red Carpet Events Center. Other recent work by BTTC included "Willy Wonka" and "Fiddler on the Roof" which were both produced last year at the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School & Middle School. Productions that are branded under Central MN Theatre (CMNT) are original productions. An example of that was their original “Dine & Drama” dinner theatre in September of this year.
